Travel: Packing Lists for Upcoming Road Trip

I am so excited to be heading out on vacation soon. I thought in honor of our trip I would share with you my packing lists. This trip we are driving instead of flying so I thought that might add a bit of freedom since we do not have to follow airport security rules. Yay!

I can’t wait to get packing and hit the open road. Even though traveling by car takes a bit longer…there is something so nice about just throwing stuff in the car and heading out and not worrying about the airport.
What is a must have on your packing lists?

Travel: BNP Paribas Open Tennis Tournament

This week we are off to the BNP Paribas Open Tennis Tournament in Indian Wells! Enjoy!

“My husband and I had the distinct pleasure of attending the BNP Paribas Open Tennis Tournament in Indian Wells California. We go every year because it is 5 minutes from our home in the desert but we had never gone to the finals before. This facility and two week tournament draws over 400,000 people. It is played at arguably one of the most beautiful settings in the world. If you are a tennis fan there is no better place to watch the top players in the world compete. This year we saw Simona Halep win the women’s trophy from Jelena Jakovic, and Novak Djokovic beat Roger Federer (my favorite player who I’ve always wanted to see). Watching th number one player in the world play the number two player in the world is so exciting. They hit the ball so hard it’s unbelievable.

Here are some of my photos from the tournament and the views from there of our gorgeous desert. Have you ever been to this tournament? If not plan a trip for next year.”

Travel: Lets Book a Trip to Maui, Hawaii!

This week…we are changing things up a bit. Here are some tips and advice to booking a trip to Maui, Hawaii! Enjoy!

“This week I will be sharing travel advice. I was planning our 30th anniversary trip. We always wanted to stay at the Four Seasons in Wailea in Maui and the Four Seasons on the island of Hawaii. The only drawback to the Four Seasons Hualalai is that it has no real beach. Otherwise it looks incredible.

We had a budget to stay within and I was having a hard time. We decided on just doing our favorite island, Maui. Our anniversary is in June and I changed dates over and over again. We finally chose October and the trip turned out to be almost $4000 cheaper. We even stayed $2000 under budget. This told me if you want luxury go on an off high season month. October in Maui should be less crowded and still great weather. More advice! Always book a package flight/hotel/car together. It is a much cheaper way to go. I hope this advice helps you in the future.”

Fashion: Sunglasses

Recently my Mom and I took a trip down to Nordstrom (TROUBLE!). We were strolling through the store and stopped in the sunglass department. We had a bit of fun trying on some outrageous styles and trendy glasses. It made me think…every girl truly needs a lux pair of shades. I adore sunglasses and have collected different styles over the past 10 years or so. Some of my favorite sunglasses are from Chanel and Tom Ford, however, I love Ray Bans as well (especially the price)! Although we did not pick up any new glasses this trip, I figured I would share with you my go to shades this year. Pictured on the top row are my classic black and white pair from Chanel (Style 5171 –  Retail $400.00). Pictured below are also by Chanel and are bit on the trendier side (Style 5182 – Retail $325.00).
What are your favorite sunglasses?
