Everyday Life: Handbag Tag!

marca_ilovebagsHold on to your seats ladies and gentlemen…Lauren is doing the handbag tag! I have been a lover of handbags as far back as I can remember and this just seems so fitting…Lets get started…

Q. What is your favorite handbag and why?
A. I would say my absolute favorite handbag would have to be my Chanel jumbo flap. In my current collection…and all the bags I have owned…it is definitely the best all around bag.
Q. Do I baby my handbags?
A. Yes! To me they are investments and I treat them as such.
Q. Do I consider myself a collector?
A. Yes! I would say I have been seriously collecting for about 8 years now.
Q. Can you part with them if I had to?
A. Definitely. As much as I love them…they are not everything to me.
Q. When did I fall in love with handbags?
A. Being a true girly girl…I fell in love with handbags from a very early age. I think one of the main factors I fell in love was because of the feminine touch it adds to any outfit.
Q. What was your first designer handbag?
A. My first designer bag was Dooney and Bourke when I turned 15. It was the beginning of it all.
Q. What was the experience like?
A. It was my first huge purchase I made with my own money I earned from work. Felt amazing!
Q. Why do I think I’m obsessed with handbags?
A. I think for me its about having my perfect collection. Just when you feel you have reached it…another bag comes on the market. Its a never ending battle.
Q. Is there an emotional component?
A. I think so. I hold on to bags that hold sentimental value to me and will never sell them for that purpose. Other than that…if the bag isn’t being used its time to sell.
Q. Do I plan or impulse buy?
A. I rarely impulse buy as I do my research before making purchases etc. Its the impulse buys that sadly dont last long in my collection. Lesson learned over the years.
Q. What is my favorite handbag designer?
A. Chanel without a doubt.
Q. What is my dream bag?
A. A Birkin. I have dreamed of owning that bag since the beginning of my collection. Its just the ultimate handbag in my opinion.

I hope you enjoyed the handbag tag. I tag all of you and ask you leave your responses in the comments!

These have to be my all time favorite notebooks! I do not have one complaint about them…and I’m pretty critical of my stationary. I have used these notebooks for years and must say they are durable, high quality, fashionable, and best of all unique because you can design and monogram them. Some of my notebooks are over two years old and are still in beautiful condition. I was so happy/thankful when May Designs graciously offered to give one of loyal readers a chance to design a notebook of their own!

Everyday Life: Mulberry Postman’s Lock Pocket Book

Now before you start laughing…yes this is another planner. I have been keeping my eye on this pocket book agenda for at least 6 months…and the wait paid off because it went on sale and bam…I was in the store ready to purchase. The leather is butter soft and has the most beautiful sheen to it. It was definitely love at first sight and couldn’t wait to get it home and set up. Normally I love the Filofax personal size but knew that I wanted something a bit smaller to both carry in my work bag and my handbag. Now the first must have for my new pocket book was dividers and a dashboard with a pocket. I looked high and low and was so lucky to come across Personaliser on etsy. She is such a doll and made everything custom and to my liking. You should definitely check out her store. The dividers and dashboard arrived quickly and fit perfectly! I will definitely be back for more. This planner is definitely an investment but knowing I love and use my planner everyday…this was an investment I was willing to make!
I also have another Filofax purchase coming to share with you all so stay tuned!

Book Review: Landline

Landline by Rainbow Rowell
Retail – $24.99
It always makes me nervous when I walk in the bookstore with not a book in mind. I usually always have the next book ready to go or one on my wish list. I walked around aimlessly looking around when I came across Landline. The cover immediately caught my attention and I was intrigued by the summary on the inside cover. Landline is about a stay at home Dad/Husband, unsure of what he wants, and a Wife who is on the brink of stardom with her new hit show. Georgie, the Mother/Wife, is unable to commit to going to Nebraska for Christmas to see her husband’s family due to work commitments. This story is about fate, commitment, and true love. I absolutely love Rainbow Rowell’s style of writing and can’t wait to start her other novel “Attachments”.

Fashion: Colored jeans?!

image-2
Yes yes…I know I am very late to this colored jeans party but better late than never right?! I do love this trend but decided gray and white colored jeans were as close as I was going to get. I know not very adventurous…but these are my colors I can’t help it! I picked these jeans up from Macy’s a few weeks ago on sale and decided I would give them a shot. I have had fun styling different outfits with them and must say that adding a different color jean to any outfit adds a new twist that I love!
Have you been loving the colored jeans trend?

Beauty: Shiseido Gentle Cleansing Cream Review

Shiseido Gentle Cleansing Cream
I have been wanting to try a more reasonably priced cleanser to help remove makeup at the end of the day. I was looking online for some reviews and this Gentle Cleanser from Shiseido came back with flying colors. This gentle cleansing cream is exactly what it says it is…its light on the skin, melts away your makeup, very lightly scented, and non-clogging to pores. It has been dermatologist tested and best of all comes in at only $30! I have been using this for over a week and must say it is great. I love the feel of the cream on my skin and it doesn’t leave a film and doesn’t leave my skin feeling uncomfortably tight. I have been really enjoying this as a nice treat after a long day. If you are interested in trying this cleanser it can be purchased here!
Have you tried the Gentle Cleansing Cream or anything from Shiseido’s Skincare line?

Book Review: Arranged

Arranged by Catherine McKenzie
Retail – $14.99
I must admit part of the reason this book caught my attention was because it was on the sale table, but the description on the back intrigued me enough to purchase this and take it home with me. This entertaining love story is about a girl named Anne who cant seem to find the right guy for her. While her best friend is off getting engaged and planning her wedding to the guy of her dreams, Anne decides to take matters into her own hands and hires an agency to arrange her marriage for her. This story is about friendship, honesty, love, and what truly connects you and your spouse to make a successful marriage.
