I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!
This past weekend I watched the documentary Tiny Home Movement. It was surreal that people choose to live in such small homes…and I mean tiny some of these homes are 200 square feet. It really had me thinking…is living with just the necessities the way to live your life? All our lives we strive to have big homes, nice cars, great jobs, etc. We are always buying new things and constantly growing out of our living space. I was amazed at how at ease, happy, and content these individuals were in these space compact spaces. I think there is a lesson to learn…that we don’t necessary need all that we have and sometimes less is more. If you are curious to learn more about these tiny homes…check it out here.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Mine was spent celebrating my Mom’s birthday and enjoying the last bit of summer weather.
This past Sunday my husband and I were out for our usual lunch date. We started talking about the Olympic Games coming up next year and how much I love the Summer Games. We also discussed how absolutely sad and devastating it is when the games are over the stadiums and buildings are left to deteriorate over time…as seen in the pics above. This has been a hot topic every time an Olympic Games comes to an end. It amazes me that after all the Olympic Games no one has made this more of an issue. I could only hope that as time goes on we learn to reuse these stadiums and buildings to help the community and thank them for letting us host the Olympics in their city.
What are your ideas for using these Stadiums and buildings?
Long time no talk! I want to apologize profusely for the long gap in postings! I have no excuse other than life happened (and oh my did it)…but…I am beyond excited to be back posting 5 days a week! I have great content coming up and can’t wait to share it with you. I hope you all had an amazing summer and thank you so much for being patient with me! Since Mondays are normally hot topics or book reviews I would love to hear what your favorite summer reads have been or the biggest hot topics in your part of the world!
Here’s to a great week!
See you all tomorrow!
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday with friends and family. I am also so elated about the Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage. Feels amazing. In honor of the decision by the Supreme Court I want to dedicate this post to all the men and women who are now able to marry. I can’t imagine not being able to marry the one I love based on my sexual preference. I am so fortunate to see this day in history…just wish it came a lot sooner for many many people.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!
I hope everyone had an amazing weekend.
This week I wanted to talk about a TV show that I recently heard about called Married at First Sight. Yes…believe it or not this is a reality show about a few couples that are paired up based on their compatibilities and are married right away. They are then sent off on a honeymoon where they are filmed as they go through their first month of marriage. At the end of their first month…they have the choice to stay married or go through a divorce. Now I know this seems crazy…but in many ways I think it’s a very interesting concept. I have not fully watched the season…but I am curious to hear others opinion on the show. If you are interested in checking out any of the episodes…you can do so here.
What are your thoughts on this show?
This past week has been amazing to watch. I have to admit after watching Bruce Jenner’s interview with Diane Sawyer…I was a bit worried about the reaction he was going to get from the world once he introduced us to his new self. I was pleasantly surprised at how accepting people have been from the very start. Growing up in California I am constantly surrounded by accepting and very liberal people, which has been amazing. Although it is always a culture shock to see when people are not as open to other people’s differences. Needless to say the world was introduced to Caitlyn and I must say she looks amazing! I feel very lucky to witness this and see the world supporting someone in transition. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us all.
What are your thoughts on Caitlyn Jenner?
I hope everyone had a fabulous Mother’s Day!
Over this past weekend Entertainment Weekly released the Broadcast Ax list! Over 30 shows on multiple networks will be canceled for the 2015-2016 season! I am a true lover of reality shows and documentaries, so some of these shows are not such a devastating loss…but I did notice some of these shows have been on for years! I hope your favorite shows are not on this list!
What are your favorite TV shows?
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!
Every morning I always scroll through all the Yahoo articles on the front page. I guess you could say its a morning ritual I have…much like it is for someone who reads the newspaper. I came across this article this past week and was really touched by it. It was about the family pictured above…well mostly about the father of this precious little girl. He quit his six-figure job to spend more time with his daughter as he felt he was missing out on watching her grow. I was even more touched by how his then boss took the news. He was also very pleased with his decision. Even though I cannot relate as I do not have kids, I admire his decision. For many people balancing their career and home life can be extremely difficult. Everyone in and around the Bay Area especially are constantly trying to out do the other and get to the next level. However for this man, his family was the most important investment. I couldn’t agree more. Please check out the article here!
What do you think of his decision to quit?
Happy Monday. I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. My apologies for being missing in action last week…I am currently 4 weeks into suffering from Mononucleosis (aka Mono) and I must say…I don’t wish this on anyone. Its awful. I really hope to be feeling better soon…even though I was told I have another 4 weeks of recovery ahead. Thank you for all hanging in there with me.
During my down time these past few weeks I have read some very interesting articles that I can’t wait to share with you all. I recently came across Yahoo’s article about 7 Habits of the World’s Richest People. There are times when I feel people think that the world’s richest people do not think or have the same wants as any other person in the world may have. Some of the top habits the world’s richest people share are staying positive, surrounding yourself with successful people, and most of all they are persistent. In my mind…these are all things we should strive for regardless of how much we have in our bank accounts. This article was definitely a positive read and hope you all get a chance to check it out.
What is one of the habits you share with the world’s richest?
When the news broke this past Saturday that Whitney Houston’s daughter was found unconscious in a bath tub I was truly heartbroken. I loved Whitney Houston’s music and thought she was one of the most talented singers. Although she is currently in a medically induced coma, her future looks bleak. It has been almost three years since her mother was found unresponsive in a bathroom in Beverly Hills and sadly passed away. From what I know, Bobby Kristina has struggled terribly since her mothers passing even with the support of her extended family. When these tragic incidents happen it truly makes you think how losing a parent affects a child, especially those that are so young. I realize fame and fortune adds another level of complications but I can only imagine the impact that made on her life.
We may not know her personally but please keep her in your thoughts.
