Everyday Life: Reflecting on the Last Year

image1-2
This past weekend I turned 28 and thought what better everyday life topic than to reflect on the last year. Its funny some people say that your golden year is when you turn the age of your birth date…mine being the 27th…and looking back…I couldn’t agree more. The last year has been one of the most rewarding and challenging years. We sold our first home, purchased our second, I made the best decision career wise, we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary in the place it all started…Palm Springs, I suffered for 12 weeks from Mono, the list goes on and on. I have to say that I wouldn’t trade last year for anything. I am so thankful for everyone and everything in my life and can’t wait to see what this year has to bring!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Beauty: Nars Yachiyo Brush #27 Review

image

High end beauty products can be extremely expensive and an investment. To me one of the biggest investments you should make is good quality brushes. I have had my eye on this Nars brush for some time but heard many mixed reviews. It was definitely a situation of you love it or hate it. I decided to give it a shot knowing if it was a total fail I could return it as this brush was on the pricy side. After a few days of using it I knew it had to go back. Sadly I felt the brush was not durable, did not pick up enough product, and shed terribly. To me those are extremely important in a brush in this price range. If you have been eyeing this brush or on the fence about purchasing it I strong suggest looking for a different brush.
Have you ever had a bad experience with a makeup brush?

Everyday Life: Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Hard to believe I am 27 today. Truthfully I feel like I’m turning 35, but am happy to know I have a few years before that number comes around. This year has been about stepping outside my comfort zone, learning what really matters, putting my happiness first, and doing things I have held off doing for years. I have always been told that I am “mature for my age”, “beyond my years” and “an old soul”, however this year I truly wanted to start really living my life and not settling just because I felt it was the right thing to do. This year I have made some of the best choices and so thankful to say that I am the happiest I have been in a long time. My husband (and family) has been such an amazing support and was the one who finally gave me the extra push I needed to create Life According to L.D. and I am so glad he did.
Here is to another fabulous year…and hope it only keeps getting better!
