Normally I stick to Chanel or Louis Vuitton when it comes to handbags…however the PS1 medium has been in the back of my mind for quite some time. Proenza Schouler was recently running their end of summer sale and I knew the deal was too good to be true. This bag is amazing. It has more compartments and zippers than any organizational lover could ever dream of. I love how easy it is to carry and how attractive the bag is. The leather is also butter soft…which for some people could be a downside since it will get a worn look over time. Overall if you are thinking of purchasing this bag…I highly recommend you do. Would I pay full price for this bag…probably not…but for the sale price…I would do it all over again.
Do you own any handbags by Proenza Schouler?
For years I have strolled right past this store in my local mall. I never really paid much attention to it as I always figured it was another sephoraesque store. Lord knows I dont need one more store to be obsessed with! Well let me tell you how absolutely wrong I was. This is like sephora/nordstrom beauty but better. I have always been a no makeup look but better kind of gal. This store was basically made for me. It has all the brands we love, Nars, Trish Mcevoy, Laura Mercier, Sara Happ, and includes a spa where they do facials and massages. Why didn’t I become obsessed with this place earlier? Blue Mercury focuses on skincare, hair care, and bath and body. It’s truly worth checking out if they are in your area. If they are not local to you, you should definitely check out their website here. It’s the perfect boutique experience with all the brands we know and love. What could be better?
Have you ever shopped Blue Mercury?
Long time no talk! I want to apologize profusely for the long gap in postings! I have no excuse other than life happened (and oh my did it)…but…I am beyond excited to be back posting 5 days a week! I have great content coming up and can’t wait to share it with you. I hope you all had an amazing summer and thank you so much for being patient with me! Since Mondays are normally hot topics or book reviews I would love to hear what your favorite summer reads have been or the biggest hot topics in your part of the world!
Here’s to a great week!
See you all tomorrow!
This past weekend I turned 28 and thought what better everyday life topic than to reflect on the last year. Its funny some people say that your golden year is when you turn the age of your birth date…mine being the 27th…and looking back…I couldn’t agree more. The last year has been one of the most rewarding and challenging years. We sold our first home, purchased our second, I made the best decision career wise, we celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary in the place it all started…Palm Springs, I suffered for 12 weeks from Mono, the list goes on and on. I have to say that I wouldn’t trade last year for anything. I am so thankful for everyone and everything in my life and can’t wait to see what this year has to bring!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
I am the first one in line to always wear the same neutral colors all the time…black…white…brown…gray…and sometimes pink. Its funny those colors seem to be the only colors I wear. This summer I decided to step out of my comfort zone a bit and try and add some more color to my wardrobe. Trust me it hasn’t been easy! I have discovered that adding a small pop of color to any outfit has been the answer for me. Whether it might be…a different colored pant, shirt, jacket, or accessories…it really seems to do the trick. I love how summery your outfit becomes…without going too crazy with color.
What is your favorite way to add a pop of color to your outfit?
I love a good lip balm…to me its just a must have makeup item to have with you at all times. I have been a huge fan of La Mer’s balm for many many years but didn’t like the packaging as you always had to stick your finger in the balm to apply it. Not the most clean application when on the go. A few months back I was near a Chanel counter and stopped by to check out the Rouge Coco Baume. The Sales Associate was raving about it and said it was very comparable to the La Mer balm. I decided to pick it up and give it a shot. I absolutely adore this coco baume and use it everyday. I do think its wonderful and worth the price tag of $36…but I do not think its better than La Mer. However I will say that this is works amazingly well under and Chanel Lipstick and keeps your lips hydrated and moisturized for hours on end. If you are in the market for a great balm on the go…I highly suggest you give this one a chance!
Have you tried Chanel Rouge Coco Baume?
This week we will be staying at the Foothill House located in Calistoga…Enjoy!
The Sonoma and Napa wine country has fabulous B&B’s. Our favorite used to be Foothill House in Calistoga. There are many wonderful ones to choose from in Yountville north of Napa. You can walk to all the shops and fabulous restaurants. Spend your days checking out the terrific wineries especially off Silverado Trail. Get a wine map and discover great wineries. The famous restaurant The French Laundry is also in Yountville. St. Helena is a little further and quite expensive. The luxury places you read about in books are Meadowwood Resort and Auberge du Soleil. A warning they come with a big price tag whether you stay there or eat there. They are more like inns a bit bigger than bed and breakfasts.

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday with friends and family. I am also so elated about the Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage. Feels amazing. In honor of the decision by the Supreme Court I want to dedicate this post to all the men and women who are now able to marry. I can’t imagine not being able to marry the one I love based on my sexual preference. I am so fortunate to see this day in history…just wish it came a lot sooner for many many people.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!
Q. What is your favorite handbag and why?
A. I would say my absolute favorite handbag would have to be my Chanel jumbo flap. In my current collection…and all the bags I have owned…it is definitely the best all around bag.
Q. Do I baby my handbags?
A. Yes! To me they are investments and I treat them as such.
Q. Do I consider myself a collector?
A. Yes! I would say I have been seriously collecting for about 8 years now.
Q. Can you part with them if I had to?
A. Definitely. As much as I love them…they are not everything to me.
Q. When did I fall in love with handbags?
A. Being a true girly girl…I fell in love with handbags from a very early age. I think one of the main factors I fell in love was because of the feminine touch it adds to any outfit.
Q. What was your first designer handbag?
A. My first designer bag was Dooney and Bourke when I turned 15. It was the beginning of it all.
Q. What was the experience like?
A. It was my first huge purchase I made with my own money I earned from work. Felt amazing!
Q. Why do I think I’m obsessed with handbags?
A. I think for me its about having my perfect collection. Just when you feel you have reached it…another bag comes on the market. Its a never ending battle.
Q. Is there an emotional component?
A. I think so. I hold on to bags that hold sentimental value to me and will never sell them for that purpose. Other than that…if the bag isn’t being used its time to sell.
Q. Do I plan or impulse buy?
A. I rarely impulse buy as I do my research before making purchases etc. Its the impulse buys that sadly dont last long in my collection. Lesson learned over the years.
Q. What is my favorite handbag designer?
A. Chanel without a doubt.
Q. What is my dream bag?
A. A Birkin. I have dreamed of owning that bag since the beginning of my collection. Its just the ultimate handbag in my opinion.
I hope you enjoyed the handbag tag. I tag all of you and ask you leave your responses in the comments!
