I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!
This past weekend I watched the documentary Tiny Home Movement. It was surreal that people choose to live in such small homes…and I mean tiny some of these homes are 200 square feet. It really had me thinking…is living with just the necessities the way to live your life? All our lives we strive to have big homes, nice cars, great jobs, etc. We are always buying new things and constantly growing out of our living space. I was amazed at how at ease, happy, and content these individuals were in these space compact spaces. I think there is a lesson to learn…that we don’t necessary need all that we have and sometimes less is more. If you are curious to learn more about these tiny homes…check it out here.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. Mine was spent celebrating my Mom’s birthday and enjoying the last bit of summer weather.
This past Sunday my husband and I were out for our usual lunch date. We started talking about the Olympic Games coming up next year and how much I love the Summer Games. We also discussed how absolutely sad and devastating it is when the games are over the stadiums and buildings are left to deteriorate over time…as seen in the pics above. This has been a hot topic every time an Olympic Games comes to an end. It amazes me that after all the Olympic Games no one has made this more of an issue. I could only hope that as time goes on we learn to reuse these stadiums and buildings to help the community and thank them for letting us host the Olympics in their city.
What are your ideas for using these Stadiums and buildings?
Long time no talk! I want to apologize profusely for the long gap in postings! I have no excuse other than life happened (and oh my did it)…but…I am beyond excited to be back posting 5 days a week! I have great content coming up and can’t wait to share it with you. I hope you all had an amazing summer and thank you so much for being patient with me! Since Mondays are normally hot topics or book reviews I would love to hear what your favorite summer reads have been or the biggest hot topics in your part of the world!
Here’s to a great week!
See you all tomorrow!
I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday with friends and family. I am also so elated about the Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage. Feels amazing. In honor of the decision by the Supreme Court I want to dedicate this post to all the men and women who are now able to marry. I can’t imagine not being able to marry the one I love based on my sexual preference. I am so fortunate to see this day in history…just wish it came a lot sooner for many many people.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!!
I hope everyone had an amazing weekend.
This week I wanted to talk about a TV show that I recently heard about called Married at First Sight. Yes…believe it or not this is a reality show about a few couples that are paired up based on their compatibilities and are married right away. They are then sent off on a honeymoon where they are filmed as they go through their first month of marriage. At the end of their first month…they have the choice to stay married or go through a divorce. Now I know this seems crazy…but in many ways I think it’s a very interesting concept. I have not fully watched the season…but I am curious to hear others opinion on the show. If you are interested in checking out any of the episodes…you can do so here.
What are your thoughts on this show?
This past week has been amazing to watch. I have to admit after watching Bruce Jenner’s interview with Diane Sawyer…I was a bit worried about the reaction he was going to get from the world once he introduced us to his new self. I was pleasantly surprised at how accepting people have been from the very start. Growing up in California I am constantly surrounded by accepting and very liberal people, which has been amazing. Although it is always a culture shock to see when people are not as open to other people’s differences. Needless to say the world was introduced to Caitlyn and I must say she looks amazing! I feel very lucky to witness this and see the world supporting someone in transition. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us all.
What are your thoughts on Caitlyn Jenner?
If you have been wanting a great read to kick off your summer…or vacation…this one should be at the top of your list! I couldn’t put this book down. I was shocked at home honest and real she was throughout the entire book. I must admit I was never the biggest fan of hers…as I really never watched her shows…but this book has made me a fan for life. I love her spirit and outlook on life. There is something to be said about having a woman like this in Hollywood. Truly commendable.
Have you read Going Off Script?
I hope everyone had a fabulous Mother’s Day!
Over this past weekend Entertainment Weekly released the Broadcast Ax list! Over 30 shows on multiple networks will be canceled for the 2015-2016 season! I am a true lover of reality shows and documentaries, so some of these shows are not such a devastating loss…but I did notice some of these shows have been on for years! I hope your favorite shows are not on this list!
What are your favorite TV shows?
In honor of Mothers Day I thought this would be the perfect book! I absolutely loved this story! This story follows a mother who is convinced she is going to die young and wants to create as many memories as possible with her daughter. The story follows them on multiple trips around the world…mostly Paris. Throughout the story the mother reflects on her life experiences as she creates new memories with her daughter. I laughed out loud at some of the situations they got themselves into…as the reminded me of times with my own mother. If you are looking for a feel good story this is the perfect book for you. I loved how Jennifer Coburn wrote this story and will definitely be looking into other books by her.
Have you read We Will Always Have Paris?
Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!
I came across this article late last week and have been really excited to share it all with you. A woman in her 20s decided to go makeup free for one year and document her experience while she traveled the world. This article was inspiring and gave a whole different perspective on beauty. I am a true believer in less is more when it comes to beauty products. Looking comfortable and confident in your own skin is the most important thing and it doesn’t take a lot of makeup to achieve that. You can check out the article here! She is also the author of the blog Twenty-SomethingTravel which you can check out here. Her blog is amazing and definitely worth a look.
Do you ever go makeup free?
