Work bags can be so hit and miss. I am the first one in line to splurge on handbags but cannot seem to do so when it comes to work bags. I know it really doesn’t make sense to me either. After looking through my handbag collection I realized every bag I own is in black…that doesn’t surprise me either. I love the style of this Tory Burch Robinson tote as Prada was the first designer to introduce this tote/briefcase style bag. I looked online and realized that it came in a stunning caramel brown color. I was sold. I called a Tory Burch store directly and lucked out as they had it in stock. They offered free two day shipping which made the impatient person in me cheer! Two days later it arrived beautifully packaged and truly more beautiful in person than online. I must say if you are looking for a classy and elegant work bag this is the one for you. This bag will not only hold everything you need but it will look new for quite some time as this bag is constructed with durable saffiano leather.
Do you own any Tory Burch handbags?
Funny enough I am not a huge fan of creme blushes. I don’t know why honestly…since I love the look of dewy and plump skin. During one of my trips to Sephora I was gifted this Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee. I was not thrilled with it upon first glance/inspection and stored in away in my stash of samples. Over this past weekend I thought I would give it a try on top of my Chanel cc cream. Needless to say I am on my third day of wearing it and love it! I have been applying this gel product with my hands and that seems to work wonders. It blends nicely into the skin and lasts all day! The color looks a bit scary in the jar but not to worry it’s a beautiful flush tone pink. Josie Maran offers a pretty good selection of colors if pink is not your thing. I definitely wouldn’t be against picking up another color in the future.
Have you tried Josie Maran’s Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee?
This week will be a bit different, as I want to dedicate this post to the people of Nepal who have just experienced one of the biggest earthquakes the world has ever seen. The people of Nepal need our help. Whether its prayer or a few dollars every little bit will help. Yahoo and the American Red Cross have set up a site where you can donate here. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!
I came across this article late last week and have been really excited to share it all with you. A woman in her 20s decided to go makeup free for one year and document her experience while she traveled the world. This article was inspiring and gave a whole different perspective on beauty. I am a true believer in less is more when it comes to beauty products. Looking comfortable and confident in your own skin is the most important thing and it doesn’t take a lot of makeup to achieve that. You can check out the article here! She is also the author of the blog Twenty-SomethingTravel which you can check out here. Her blog is amazing and definitely worth a look.
Do you ever go makeup free?
Ever since purchasing the Apple iPhone 6 plus…I have had the hardest time finding the perfect case. Normally I am a phone case junkie…but I have had an extremely hard time finding cases for the iPhone 6 plus that appealed to me. I have had my eye on the Apple leather cases since they were released and was always hesitant as the lightest color was my favorite but was worried about getting it dirty or having to baby it in any way. I finally gave in as my plastic silicone case was getting majorly scratched up and took the plunge. Once the case was on the phone I could immediately tell why it cost $49. The leather is incredibly soft and stunning and adds just enough protection to the phone. Had I known I would have liked it this much…I would have splurged on it long ago.
What is your favorite phone case?
For years I have been a huge fan of the brand Chloe. I think the brand offers incredibly stunning bags and accessories with buttery soft leathers. I was on the hunt for a long wallet and thought I would give this one a go. I purchased it in a light gray as I thought it would be a good contrast to my black handbag. After a few days…I knew it wasn’t going to work. The leather was so soft and so light that I felt I had to be too careful with it. A wallet is going to get banged up and scratched but I was so too worried about messing it up that I wasn’t enjoying it. Needless to say it went back. My local Nordstrom did not have it in black…had they I would have exchanged it for that color. It’s a beautiful wallet and it held so much…just wasn’t the right color for me.
Do you own any accessories or handbags by Chloe?
I have been a long time user of La Mer skin care products. I have sworn by them and think they offer some of the best products on the market. Over the past year or so I have branched out in hopes to find something else that I love just as much. I think I may have found it. Chanel not only offers wonderful and high quality makeup but their skin care line is nothing less than exceptional. I have had the pleasure of testing out their Hydra Beauty line including their micro serum. I have never been into serums before this one. This adds a level of moisture to the skin that no other serum has achieved. I can’t get enough of it. If you could only splurge on one item from their skin care line I would suggest this product. It’s that good.

This week we are off to Xcaret! Adventure time!
“One of the best travel experiences of my life is visiting Xcaret Eco-Archeological Park in the Riviera Maya near Cancun, Mexico. We took a snorkeling tour, swam in underground rivers and had the incredible experience of swimming with Dolphins. I am still in love with Dolphins! There is also an incredible coral reef aquarium. At night there is a Mexican Spectacular celebration of lights, color, music and costumes taking you on a tour of the cultural history of Mexico. I have it on my bucket list to go back.
Have you ever been there?”

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!
Every morning I always scroll through all the Yahoo articles on the front page. I guess you could say its a morning ritual I have…much like it is for someone who reads the newspaper. I came across this article this past week and was really touched by it. It was about the family pictured above…well mostly about the father of this precious little girl. He quit his six-figure job to spend more time with his daughter as he felt he was missing out on watching her grow. I was even more touched by how his then boss took the news. He was also very pleased with his decision. Even though I cannot relate as I do not have kids, I admire his decision. For many people balancing their career and home life can be extremely difficult. Everyone in and around the Bay Area especially are constantly trying to out do the other and get to the next level. However for this man, his family was the most important investment. I couldn’t agree more. Please check out the article here!
What do you think of his decision to quit?
My love for coffee is no secret. Coffee is apart of my morning routine Monday through Friday. I have been trying a new experiment lately of picking up prepackaged coffee at the grocery store from different brands to see if I could skip Starbucks or Peets everyday. So far its been a really fun experiement. This past week I tried the Skinny Cow Creamy Iced Coffee in all three flavors. I am beyond impressed. These iced coffees have a delicious, sweet, and creamy taste that I love. I add a bit of non fat milk and some ice cubes and I am set. No stopping off at Starbucks or Peets on my way to work…at least not multiple times a week.
Do you have a favorite iced coffee drink that you can buy at the grocery store?
