Book Review: The Next Best Thing

The Next Best Thing by Jennifer Weiner
Retail – $39.99 (Book on CD)

This is a perfect feel good story about a young girl and her grandmother and their journey to rebuilding their life in Los Angeles. Ruth (the granddaughter) has dreams to make it big as a screenwriter, while her Grandmother may have found more than she bargained for. Ruth takes you on her journey as she experiences¬†the constant ups and downs of Hollywood and is tested on how far she will go for success in show business. I purchased this book on CD which was read by Olivia Thirlby, who is best known as “Leah” in Juno. She did a wonderful job portraying Ruth and telling the story from her point of view. If you are looking for a good summer read…or listen…I highly suggest you pick up The Next Best Thing.
Do you have a favorite feel good story?
