My Macadamia Nut Recipes from our Plantation House by Anita DeDomenico.
2 cups flour
1 stick butter, melted
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
1-2/3 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 bananas)
1 cup chocolate chips (the original recipe calls for macadamia nuts)
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl mix together ingredients in order given. Pour into a regular loaf pan which has been greased and dusted with flour. Bake for one hour. Let cool 10 minutes, then turn out of pan. This banana bread will keep weeks in the refrigerator.
